Break Shield rear PTO shaft
Unlike the front PTO guard, the main guard on the rear PTO rotates up and down on the rear PTO. This allows access to PTO shaft 14, but prevents damage to the center door. PTO body 20 turns around pivot pin 26. In addition to the main guard, several other parts of the PTO may be damaged.
The main shield is supported on the rear power take-off shaft of the agricultural vehicle using a three-point hitch. The door and body openings are dimensioned and positioned so that the centre link of the hitch can engage them. The main guard can be moved up and down between its lowered and raised positions by means of spring-loaded locking devices. The locking device also includes a pivot link member located on the PTO shaft that allows the main guard to be moved from the raised position to the lowered position.
